GPS-Buddy Americas Inc., a unit of GPS-Buddy Limited, today announced the GPS-Buddy CONNECT, a unique, all-in-one solution that turns Garmin navigators into interactive fleet tracking solutions that enabling two-ways communications between driver and operator.
This fully functional fleet tracking system is available for Garmin’s range of personal navigation devices (PNDs). These include the Garmin nüvi, Street Pilot and the motorcycle unit, the zümo.

The GPS-Buddy CONNECT linked with a Garmin PND allows fleet operators to substantially increase the productivity of their mobile workforce by downloading information about daily pickup and delivery stops, tracking the location of their drivers and vehicles, and communicating with the drivers through an intuitive text-based user-interface.
With a tap on the screen, drivers can access detailed turn-by-turn, text-to-speech, voice prompted directions to their destinations. If a driver misses a turn, Garmin’s navigation technology will alert the driver and automatically recalculate a new route to the destination. The dispatch center can also constantly keep tabs on the location of vehicles to ensure that new dispatch destinations can be sent to the nearest vehicle. In addition, owners and operators can be alerted to unauthorized use of their vehicles.
As a stand-alone solution, the GPS-Buddy CONNECT transmits real-time information, so customers can know where their vehicles are and communicate with the drivers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The information provided consists of accurate start and stop times, the route taken, distances travelled and much more…
The GPS-Buddy CONNECT fits in almost any car cigarette lighter socket. The GPS SIRF III receiver that comes with each GPS-Buddy CONNECT can be placed on the dashboard.
Vehicle data are transmitted with a pre-activated mobile data card, already installed in the GPS-Buddy CONNECT.
