GPS-Buddy is introducing a new emissions reporting feature in Flowter, developed in collaboration with infrastructure company Van Werven Infra b.v. The report automatically calculates CO2, NOx and NH3 based on real data from vehicles and machinery — without manual calculations or estimates. The methodology behind the reporting has been independently assessed by TÜV NORD Nederland and partner Diggle BV, ensuring the figures hold up with any auditor, client or permit authority.
Construction companies, contractors and carriers face a growing challenge: demand for verifiable emissions data is rising. In construction and infrastructure, emissions were traditionally calculated using machine manuals and standard factors — an estimate, not a measurement.
With Flowter, fuel consumption, operating hours and kilometres are automatically recorded via the onboard computer of vehicles and machinery. That data is directly converted into CO2, NOx and NH3 per project location and period. The IT controls relating to the emissions and reporting methodology have been independently assessed within an ISAE 3000 assurance engagement, carried out in collaboration between TÜV NOORD Nederland and its partner Diggle BV. The figures produced by Flowter are therefore substantiated and verifiable, making the reports directly usable for tenders, permit authorities and clients.
The emissions reporting feature was not designed behind a desk — it was developed in the field. Van Werven Infra tested the functionality extensively on its own projects, resulting in a system that fits the day-to-day reality of contractors and carriers.
Harry Hertsenberg, Director Infra at Van Werven Infra, describes the independent assessment by TÜV NORD Nederland and partner Diggle BV as an exceptionally powerful tool. "Clients trust the data, and we remove all kinds of dilemmas for them."
Clients and partners no longer need to sift through raw fuel and operating-hours data themselves or consolidate it in spreadsheets. Van Werven's report is sufficient — saving time and building trust, as the methodology has been independently assessed.
The emissions report is exportable in PDF, XLSX or CSV and can be shared directly with a client, auditor or permit authority. The feature is available within Flowter, GPS-Buddy's asset intelligence platform for vehicles, machinery and people.
